Welcome to the North American Malankara Knanaya Community (NAMKC)
We are a united community of Knanaya faithful living across North America, rooted in the rich traditions of the Malankara Syrian Church and the unique heritage of the Knanaya people. The NAMKC seeks to preserve our distinct identity while nurturing spiritual growth, cultural pride, and unity among Knanaya families in the diaspora.
Who we are
The North American Malankara Knanaya Community (NAMKC) is a collective body of Knanaya Christians who follow the traditions of the Malankara Syrian rite and are settled in various parts of the United States and Canada. We are part of the ancient Knanaya community that traces its roots to the arrival of the merchant Thomas of Cana and 72 families from the Middle East to Kerala, India, in the 4th century A.D.
OUR mission
To preserve and promote the unique heritage, customs, and spiritual traditions of the Knanaya community. To foster unity and fellowship among Knanaya families living in North America. To support our members spiritually, culturally, socially, and educationally. To nurture our youth in the faith and values of our forefathers.
We celebrate
Our patron saints and feast days. Church sacraments and liturgical observances in Malayalam and English Cultural customs passed down for centuries.
NAMKC consists of regional chapters in several major cities across the U.S. and Canada including: Chicago ,Dallas, Houston, New Jersey / New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, Atlanta and more…
